2024-25 Women’s Basketball All-Cal Pac and All-Defensive Teams
Following an off-season that saw a significant transformation of the California Pacific Conference, the 2024-25 All-Cal Pac is adorned with many new names and faces. Most notably, UC Merced's Nicole Lukito and Westcliff's Jayla Reliford are very familiar to conference coaches, and their performances this season compelled the coaches to select the two the Cal Pac Player of the Year and Defender of the Year, respectively.
Lukito was voted the Freshman of the Year last year after putting on a dominating performance, and she continued that dominance this year, leading the Cal Pac in scoring (16.3 points per game), rebounding (15.1 per game), free throw percentage (82.4), ranked second in field goal percentage (53.1) and third in assists per game (3.3). Her 15.1 rebounds per game ranks second in the NAIA this year and is the second highest average in Cal Pac history. Lukito pulled down 111 offensive rebounds—45 more than the next player on the list. The sophomore from Fremont, Calif., totaled 13 double-doubles last season; this year she has amassed 20, including the final 13 games of the regular season, and her two-year career total will place her third all-time in conference annals.
Playing for Park-Gilbert the previous two seasons, Reliford had already established herself as one of the conference's top passers, registering a Cal Pac all-time best 6.4 assists in 22-23, and 5.0 last year. Now with the Warriors, Reliford is again good at sharing the ball, averaging 3.8 assists in 24-25, and is WU's second-leading scorer at 8.6 points per game, but she has made her biggest impression on the defensive end of the court. The 5'2" guard leads her team in rebounding (6.5 per game) and the entire conference in steals per game (3.4).
Lukito and Reliford are also repeat selections for the conference All-Defensive Team.
La Sierra junior guard Breonna Martinez was named the Newcomer of the Year. Martinez helped guide the Golden Eagles to a postseason berth, averaging 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
Westcliff's Kassidy Beach stood out among the many first-year players in the Cal Pac and was recognized as the Freshman of the Year for 24-25. She averaged 4.5 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game for the playoff-bound Warriors.
The Cal Pac's Sixth Player Of The Year is UCM's Paloma Ramirez. The junior guard, who was named the Freshman of the Year in 22-23, continues to play a key role in the Bobcats' success. This season she came off the bench to average 5.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per outing.
UCM head coach Kellie Bernard was voted as the top coach by her peers, the first time in her three seasons with the Bobcats.
Lukito, Reliford, Ramirez, and La Sierra's Kaydn Mew are the only players to have received All-Cal Pac recognition in the past. Mew, a senior guard who was named to the First Team this season, was a Second Team pick last year.
