Cal Pac Playoff Picture Becomes Clearer

With one week remaining in the regular season, five teams still have a mathematical chance to join Westcliff and UC Merced in the California Pacific Conference Championship, which will be played at UC Merced in Merced, Calif., on Nov. 7 and 9.  The Warriors, ranked No. 19 in the most recent NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, and No. 23 UC Merced have clinched two of the four slots in the two-day tournament.  But the picture is not as clear for next five teams.  Soka and La Sierra, both with three wins, have the inside track to the playoffs, but neither can afford a loss during the final week of Cal Pac action.  The remaining three teams—Pacific Union, Simpson, and Providence Christian—will need help from other teams to move into the picture and, realistically, none of the three can afford a loss in the coming week.
