MCU Blanks ERAU to Extend Postseason Run

Marymount California punched its ticket to the program's fifth consecutive NAIA National Championship tournament by blanking Embry-Riddle 4-0 in the California Pacific Conference title match in Torrance, Calif. The Mariners earned the second automatic bid with the first one going to regular season champion UC Merced.

Both MCU and UCM will find out who and where they will be playing the Opening Round this Monday, Nov. 12, at 10:00 a.m. PST when the NAIA reveals the 30 qualifiers (host Vanguard is the 31st team in the tournament) online at www.facebook.com/PlayNAIA.

The 60th Annual Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round gets underway on Nov. 17 on campus sites to be determined by seeding. The ensuing rounds will be played at OC Great Park Soccer Stadium in Irvine, Calif. beginning on Nov. 26.

Four different players scored for MCU, now 13-4-3 on the season, three of them coming in the first 33 minutes of the game, putting ERAU in a deep hole. Nedin Zukanovic a flurry of scoring with a goal in the 29th minute, converting a Randy Martinez pass for the game's first score. A minute and a half later, Zukanovic fed Joshua Bynoe for the second tally, and two minutes after that it was 3-0 on a goal by Miguel Martinez with an assist from Jonathon Soto Miranda. MCU's final score came in the 54th minute when John Ryan Holland found the back of the net on Randy Martinez's second assist of the match.

ERAU finishes its season with a 12-7-1 overall record.
