Baseball Playoffs Begin Tomorrow at HoHoKam Stadium

Five teams will convene this week in Mesa, Ariz., at HoHoKam Stadium for the California Pacific Conference Championship, which will determine which team will advance to the NAIA National Championship.  The three-day tournament begins tomorrow, May 1, when #4 Westcliff takes on #5 Park-Gilbert at 9:00 am.  That game will be followed by the matchup between #3 Simpson and #2 Embry-Riddle at 12:30. Tournament host and regular season champion Benedictine Mesa will play the winner of the game between the Warriors and the Buccaneers at 4:00 pm., while the loser of the first game will play the loser of the SU-ERAU game in the tournament's first elimination game at 7:30 pm.

The competition continues on Thursday, May 2, with three more games to determine the two teams that will play for the tournament crown on Friday, May 3, at 12:00 noon.

The winner of the Cal Pac Championship will advance to the NAIA Baseball World Series, with Opening Rounds being played regionally May 13-16.  The winners from each Opening Round move on to the championship round at Lewis-Clark State, Lewiston, Ida.
