USK Earns Title Matchup With Corban

For the second consecutive time, Saint Katherine defeated Westcliff in a showdown between the California Pacific Conference's top two teams, and this time the victory catapulted the Firebirds into the title match of the Western Grouping Beach Volleyball Qualifying Tournament at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.  USK advances to face Corban (Ore.) in tomorrow's championship match, scheduled to start at 9:00 am.  To watch the title match live, click here.  The winner of the Western Grouping earns an automatic bid to the NAIA National Invitational, which will take place at the Greenville Beach Volleyball Complex in Greenville, Tenn., April 25-27.

No. 6 USK (14-8) extended its season with a 4-1 win over WU.  The last time the two teams met, the Firebirds edged the Warriors 3-2 to claim a share of the Cal Pac regular season title; this time around the victory provides USK with an opportunity to move on to the national tournament.  To accomplish that, the Firebirds will need to get past No. 2 Corban (19-3), which topped USK 4-1 in Friday morning Pool play.

WU, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, closes out the season with a 13-6 record and a co-championship—the Warriors' third consecutive Cal Pac title.

Earlier in the day, Park-Gilbert defeated Bushnell 3-2 to finish with one win in three NAIA West Qualifier matches and end the 2024 campaign with a 5-22 record.

Benedictine Mesa lost all three of its tournament matches to finish the year with a 4-11 record.
