Top Seeds Remain Unbeaten on Day 1

The top two seeds in both Pools of the 2024 Western Grouping Beach Volleyball Qualifying Tournament held serve Thursday, finishing the first day of competition at the Elite Athlete Training Center, Chula Vista, Calif., with two wins.  The top two seeds from the California Pacific Conference, No. 6 Saint Katherine and No. 9 Westcliff, won both of their matches, while top two seeds from the Cascade Conference, Corban (Ore.)—the No. 2 team in the country—and Southern Oregon also went 2-0.  All four teams have clinched a spot in Friday's Semifinals, which start at 4:00 pm.

USK and Corban  will meet tomorrow morning to determine the top seed in the Pool A, and WU and SOU will square off to decide the winner of Pool B.  Both matches begin at Friday at 9:00 am.

The winners of the Western Grouping advance to the NAIA National Invitational, which will take place at the Greenville Beach Volleyball Complex in Greenville, Tenn., April 25-27.
