Walla Walla beats Central Christian, earns spot in semi finals

Surviving three match points, Walla Walla earns their first win of the season and their first berth into the 2026 California Pacific Men's Volleyball Championships. The Wolves defeated Central Christian in 5 electric sets 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 18-16).

Match 8 proved to be the most exciting match of the day and the first during the Jaboree to go 5 sets. In the fight to position themselves for the last spot to clinch a playoff berth in the conference tournament, Walla Walla reigned supreme.

After trailing two sets to one, Central Christian won the fourth set to push the game to fifth set and took an early 11-7 lead. Walla Walla would storm back to tie the game at 14-14 and send the contest into extras. The Wolves outscored the Tigers 11-5 to seal the victory..

Second team selection Stephen Barnes and middleblocker Preston LeValley each earned 13 kills for Central Christian. Honorable mention Jesse Espinoza notched 27 assists and 12 digs.

Junior outside hitter Joaquin Juarez had a phenomenal performance for Walla Walla as he notched 28 kills, 15 digs and 3 service aces. Honorable mention Ethan Gaines had 19 kills and 4 digs. Junior setter and honorable mention Jonathan Tobar played spectacular as he had 41 assists and 2 digs.

Walla Walla will face top-seed #7 Westcliff in Semifinal game #1 on April 17, 2026 at 9:00am.
