#2 Rocky Mountain dominates. Ends Simpson’s historic run.

Rocky Mountain (Mont) (29-3, 20-2) from the Frontier Conference won their 19th straight contest as they defeated Cal Pac champs Simpson University (16-11, 7-2) in the first round of the NAIA Men's National Basketball tournament 94-59 to enter the second round.

The Red Hawks, riding a four-game win streak and on a historic run, faced a buzzsaw against the Bears at Fortin Education Center in Billings, Montana. The Bears came out hot in the first half shooting 60% from the field and 65% behind the half to take a 26-point lead heading into the intermission. The Bears, Omari Nesbit, a senior from Sacramento, CA, was white hot in the first half scoring 25 points in the first 10 minutes of the game and finished with 31 overall. Cal Pac Player of the Year, Timothy Parker, finished his season with 14 points and 3 steals. Dylan Harms added 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals and Jack Jillson contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Rocky Mountain moves ahead to face The Master's on Saturday, March 14 at 4pm (MST).
