Simpson Sweeps Men’s Cross Country Championships
The Simpson men's cross country program takes first place at the Cal Pac Championships held today at the USATF Pacific XC Course in Cottonwood, CA. This is Simpson's first men's cross country championship in school history and is headed to Nationals.
The first five to cross the finish line were Red Hawks with freshman Justin Montoya winning the crown. The native from Las Vegas, NV finished with a time of 27:40.34. Simpson's Cade Salsedo (27:40.34, Colton Silva (30:28.39), Alexander Reusze (30:40.19), Benny Peralta (31.32.07), Matthew Viramontez (32:10.63) rounded off the top-7. Pacific Union's Andrew Baluyot (31:50.87) was the lone non-Simpson runner to qualify for the national tournament and finished sixth in the race.
