WESTCLIFF TABBED AS CAL PAC MEN'S SOCCER FAVORITE AGAIN

 

The Westcliff men's soccer program is the unanimous favorite to repeat per a preseason vote of the Cal Pac's head coaches. This is the third straight season as the favorites for the Warriors.

Westcliff (12-2-2; 6-0-1 Cal Pac) tied for first place last season, sharing the title with UC Merced, and competed in the NAIA National Tournament. Westcliff is led by 2024 Cal Pac Offensive Player of the Year Jordan di Lonardo, a midfielder from Gordola, Switzerland. The Warriors also return two first team All-Cal Pac forwards Jesse Heredia and Jose Morales.

Stanton University (11-6-4; 4-1-2), in its first year in the NAIA and the Cal Pac, returns sophomore standout defender Francisco De Marco who led the team last season with 16 goals, 7 assists and 39 points. 

Simpson (2-8-1; 1-5-1 Cal Pac) enters the third spot and returns 8 seniors to help provide leadership and experience for the Redhawks.

Pacific Union (4-5-2; 3-3-1 Cal Pac) returns 2024 Cal Pac Newcomer of the Year forward Emiliano Ascencio and 2nd Team selection forward Edwin Zavala. The Pioneers edged out Cal Maritime (2-11-2; 0-7 Cal Pac) for the #4 spot. The Keelhaulers return two Cal Pac Honorable Mention players in defender/midfielder Jose Diaz and center back Alexander Zimmerman to help in their 2025 campaign.

The new-look Cal Pac features a double round-robin schedule this season, culminating in a joint men's and women's championship event hosted by Westcliff on November 7-9 in Irvine, CA.
