Cal Pac Names Players of the Week for April 1
The following California Pacific Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the conference Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 25-31:
BASEBALL
Player of the Week
Titus Sato of Simpson triggered an offense that posted two Cal Pac wins against La Sierra and a third against No. 7 Jessup last week. The senior outfielder from Hilo, Hawaii, went 8-for-13, including a double, a home run, scored six runs, and drove in three.

Pitcher of the Week
Cole Altherr of Embry-Riddle Altherr pitched a complete game shutout against the Park-Gilbert last week, helping the Eagles to take two out of three from the Buccaneers. The senior righty from Tucson, Ariz., struck out 12 batters and gave up just four hits in his nine-inning stint.

SOFTBALL
Player of the Week
Noelle Gumm of Park-Gilbert led her squad to two doubleheader splits, including an upset win over (RV) Arizona Christian. The freshman catcher from Gilbert, Ariz., went 6-for-11 at the plate, including a pair of doubles and a 1.370 OPS. Her three RBI spurred the come-from-behind win against ACU.

Pitcher of the Week
Abril Nerey of Park-Gilbert earned her second consecutive recognition after throwing a two-hit shutout to beat La Sierra on Monday and adding 5.2 scoreless inning in relief in game one against (RV) Arizona Christian on Wednesday. The senior from Rio Rico, Ariz., then threw another four innings of relief in the second game, allowing only one earned run to keep the Bucs in the game and allow them to overcome a 5-0 deficit to upset ACU in extra innings. She struck out 11 in her 16.2 innings with 0.42 ERA, and opponents hit .143 against her for the week.

GOLF
Men's Golfer of the Week
James Mackie of Benedictine Mesa had three top-10 finishes over the past several weeks, placing 2nd at the TPC Shootout (Feb. 18-20) and at the Showdown (March 18-19). In between, the senior from Phoenix, Ariz., placed 10th at the RMC Intercollegiate (March 4-6).

Women's Golfer of the Week
In 2023-24, Kaetlin Halseth of Embry-Riddle picked up right where she left off last season. The junior from Kingwood, Tex., an NAIA All-American last season, placed 3rd at the Showdown (March 18-19) and won the individual title at the ERAU Spring Invite (March 24-25), leading the field in birdies and pars.
