ERAU’s Barragan Named NAIA Baseball Player of the Week
Embry-Riddle shortstop Drew Barragan has been named the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week, and Cesar Avila of Cumberlands (Ky.) has been named the NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from February 26 - March 3 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Barragan, a senior from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., had 10 hits in 15 at bats for ERAU last weekend against La Sierra. He had seven doubles, one triple and three stolen bases for a .667 batting average, .714 on base percentage, and a slugging percentage of 1.267. He had eight extra base hits, 19 total bases, and a 1.000 fielding percentage as the starting shortstop.
