Morris Named NAIA Defender of the Week

In a national poll of NAIA Sports Information Directors, Saint Katherine's Alexcis Morris has been selected as the NAIA Women's Volleyball Defender of the Week.  The senior middle blocker, a native of Menifee, Calif., played a key role in the Firebirds' 3-0 start on California Pacific Conference campaign, sweeping through a demanding road trip to Arizona. After receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, USK opened league action with a five-set win over perennial power Embry-Riddle on Thursday, followed that with a sweep of (RV) Benedictine Mesa, and then closed out with a three-set win at Park-Gilbert.  For the week, Morris, the Cal Pac Defender of the Week, recorded 18 block assists (an average of 1.8 per set), including seven in each of the first two matches.
