Cal Pac Names Final Players of the Week for 2022-23

The following California Pacific Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the conference Players of the Week for their performances during the period of April 24 - 30:

 

BASEBALL

Pitcher of the Week­­

Owen Sideris of Saint Katherine had a solid week, appearing in three games last week.  The freshman from Huntington Beach, Calif., helped get two big wins in a must-win series against Park-Gilbert. He posted a 1.50 earned run average while walking one and fanning seven in six innings of work.

Player of the Week

Roberto Garcia-Nunez of Embry-Riddle was an offensive spark in its La Sierra series. The junior from Salinas, Calif., collected hits in each game, going 8-for-8 in the last two games. After getting a single in game one, he picked up three hits in the second game, scoring one run. He saved his best for last, going 5-for-5 with three doubles and a home run, driving in four and scoring three times.

SOFTBALL

Pitcher of the Week

Jada Bolar of Antelope Valley tossed a complete-game shutout over Vanguard in a non-conference game last week.  The junior right-hander from Plumas Lake, Calif., finished seven innings, surrendering just four hits, no walks, and striking out seven.

Player of the Week

Haley Garcia of Westcliff played a key role in the Warriors' taking two out of three from No. 22 Hope International last week.  The freshman outfielder scored four times, and at least one in every game—and went 5-for-10 with a triple.
