California Pacific Conference champion Menlo College took the top individual honor and placed three players on the all-conference women's volleyball first team, Commissioner Don Ott announced today.
Senior middle blocker Deborah Bekowies captured the Player of the Year award in the closest vote for Player of the Year in recent memory. Bekowies along with teammates Stephanie Williamson and Sarah Poole made the first team. Menlo finished 16-9 overall and a perfect 12-0 in Cal Pac conference play. This is the team's 5th championship in the last 6 years, with a 71-1 league record in those championship seasons.

Menlo College senior Katie Pendley was selected as the California Pacific Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the dates of November 2nd through 9th, 2009.

The 2009 Cal Pac volleyball tournament opens this week for the first time in the conference's history. First and second round games take place at the higher seeds and the championship game is set for Menlo College. The host Oaks are the #1 seed.

Menlo College has clinched the regular season Cal Pac women's volleyball title and the #1 seed, and the first-round pairings are set for the inaugural conference tournament which opens Nov. 11. Holy Names is the #2 seed and will host #5 Pacific Union. William Jessup owns the #3 spot and will entertain #4 Simpson.
