Menlo College junior Alex Palomerez had fifteen saves in the Oaks' 2-0 week and was selected as the California Pacific Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the dates of October 10th through 16th, 2011.
The Fremont, California native had fifteen saves and two shutouts in the Oaks' 2-0 week. Menlo won 2-0 over CSU Maritime on Tuesday in Atherton and on Saturday, the Oaks beat Holy Names 1-0 in Atherton. As of October 11th, Palomarez was first in the conference in goals allowed average (1.19), second in shutouts per match (.27) and sixth in saves per match (4.36).
Menlo has two matches this week, both in California Pacific Conference play. The Oaks will take on Simpson University in Redding on Wednesday and will play William Jessup University in Atherton on Saturday.
