Shannon Osborne is back on the west coast as the new head women's basketball coach at Menlo College."I am extremely excited about adding Shannon to our staff," stated
Keith Spataro, the Menlo AD. "She is very passionate about coaching and her experiences are
invaluable to our department. She is highly educated and very driven,
which marks for a great coach. I look forward to watching her grow in
her new role."
Osborne comes to Menlo after serving a one-year stint at Fordham, a Division 1 NCAA institution. Prior to that, she was an assistant coach at Lynn University in Florida, helping rebuild a program that was 5-22 to a 17-11 mark her final year.
She spent the 2001-02 season at San Jose State as an assistant
coach where she helped the Spartans to a school high 4th place finish
in the WAC. From 1999-2001, she was an administrative assistant with
the University of Kansas. The Seattle-area native also spent one season
as an assistant at Texas-Pan American and served as an assistant girl's
basketball coach at her alma mater Redmond (WA) High School from
1996-98. Osborne also gained experience on the AAU circuit, directing
the Seattle-area Players Only squad in the summer of 1998.
She inherits an Oaks team which finished 14-13 in 2007-08, but returns two-time All-Cal Pac guard Kelci Fushikoshi who is back for her senior year.
