Holy Names University softball coach Melanie Gregor announced the signing of Analy High School pitcher Nicole Ochoa for the 2012 season.

Ochoa, currently still in competition with Analy H.S., was named All-Redwood Empire Second Team as a sophomore and last season, as a junior, was named to All-Redwood Empire First Team. She has played softball for ten years and pitched for the Salinas Wildcats, a top traveling team.

Melanie Gregor said about Ochoa, "She's been very successful as a pitcher and she adds depth to our pitching rotation." Ochoa said about coming to Holy Names, "Holy Names is a nice small school. The players all hung out together and the teachers seemed really personal. This choice seemed more like me."
