William Jessup University's head women's basketball coach Guin Boggs has announced the hiring of Bryan Pistole and Brittany Kolenbrander as assistant basketball coaches.
Pistole, a native of Sierra Madre, California, was a three-year varsity standout player at Maranatha High School in Pasadena, California. He would go on to play one year at San Jose Christian College before graduating from Azusa Pacific. He spent three years as an assistant varsity coach at Maranatha and one year as the freshman coach at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pistole said, "I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to coach at the college level and be an understudy to Coach Boggs. I think we have the pieces in place to put together an exceptional program. I look forward to helping the student-athletes become all that God has planned for them." Pistole's wife, Jessica, is the head softball coach at William Jessup.
Kolenbrander, a native of Rockford, Michigan, comes to William Jessup after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, California. Kolenbrander is not a stranger to NAIA basketball as she starred at Trinity Christian College in Palso Heights, Illinois. In her junior year with the Trolls, Kolenbrander led her team to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship and berth in the 2007 NAIA National Tournament. Upon graduation in May 2008, she participated with the women's basketball team on a sports mission trip through SCORE International to the Dominican Republic. Brittany has been a counselor at several high school and college summer camps. Kolenbrander said, "I have a deep passion for the game of basketball and thank God for the many opportunities I have been given. It's a privilege to join Coach Boggs' staff and have the opportunity to work with the student athletes at William Jessup.".jpg)
