Greg Hutton, golf coach at Holy Names University, has announced his resignation effective at the end of the month.

In his tenure at Holy Names, the Hawks captured three California Pacific Conference championships and at one point during the 2009-2010 season were ranked as high as third in the nation. They finished in the top at the NAIA National Championship, including a fifth place finish this past season, the last two years, and had two players earn All American honors.

Holy Names athletic director Dennis Jones said about Hutton, "Greg was a valuable member of the Holy Names community. He and his family will be missed greatly. He was a great colleague and friend. We wish Greg and his family the very best."

Hutton said, "I am proud of what we have accomplished at Holy Names. In the last four years this program has been transformed from a top 50 team into one of the most elite programs in the NAIA. With two young children, my wife and I decided that it was time to move closer to family. I will never forget the last four years at Holy Names. The success of the program was great, but the kids that I got to coach and the relationships that I created were what this was all about."
