In a vote of the California Pacific Conference's nine men's basketball coaches, the Dominican University Penguins, who were the 2007-2008 California Pacific Conference regular season champions, received recognition as this year's top team. 

The Penguins won first place by a slim 3 points, scoring 75 out of a possible 405 and garnering 3 first-place votes. In 2nd was defending tournament champions Menlo College with 72 points; the Oaks garnered also 3 first place votes. In 3rd, the coaches chose CSU East Bay. CSU East Bay will be the host for the 2008-2009 California Pacific Conference semifinal and championship rounds February 27th-28th.

 

The winner of this year's conference tournament automatically advances to the NAIA National Tournament, which is to be held in Point Lookout, Missouri on the campus of College of the Ozarks.
