William Jessup University men's basketball coach Aaron Muhic announced the signing of Nikita Evdokimov, Alden Wampler and Joe Jacobus for the 2010-11 men's basketball team.

Evdokimov, a native of Novy Urengoy, Russia, joins the Warriors after a successful stint at Contra Costa Community College in San Pablo, California. The 6-9 center finished his sophomore season by averaging 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds as he helped the Comets to a 13-14 record overall and 8-8 record in the Bay Valley Conference. Nikita received the student athlete academic award in both seasons at Contra Costa.

Coach Muhic said about Evdokimov, "I am very excited to work with Nikita. He has made himself into a good college player with a high coachability and hard work. I know that he will have a very positive impact on our campus community on and off the court."

Evdokimov said, "William Jessup provides me the opportunity to grow stronger spiritually, academically and athletically. The coaching staff is great and the basketball program has had great success. The small class size will help me to build great relationships with my professors and excel in the classroom."

Alden Wampler, a 6-4 guard, joins the Warriors from Modesto Christian High School. The Modesto, California native averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds a game for the Crusaders. In his two seasons playing varsity basketball, Alden helped Modesto Christian to a 46-18 record with back-to-back Trans Valley League and Sac-Joaquin Section Championships. As a senior captain, Wampler earned Trans Valley League All-League honors and was selected to the Columbia College All-Star and to six Stanislaus County All-Star games.

Coach Muhic said about Wampler, "Alden comes from a very good high school program and is a winner. He will need to continue to work on his strength, but I know he will adjust well to the college game." Wampler said, "William Jessup felt like home for me. I like the close knit community atmosphere and I am excited to grow as a person and player over the next four years at Jessup."

Joe Jacobus, a native of East Wenatchee, Washington, joins the Warriors after a successful career at Eastmont High School. The 6-7 forward averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds in his senior season at Eastmont. Jacobus started out his high school career at Granite Falls before his family moved to East Wenatchee. As a sophomore on the varsity team, Joe helped lead the Tigers to a 19-4 record and a trip deep into the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Basketball Tournament.
Coach Muhic said, "Joe provides our program with more physical play and rebounding. He is a good athlete and I think he can compete well at this level." Jacobus said, "I chose to attend Jessup because I believe I can really excel with this team and I have a lot of confidence that the basketball staff will take my game to the next level. I feel like I will not only be successful in basketball, but also be successful in learning the way of life through my time at William Jessup. The program has done some amazing things and I undoubtedly wanted to be a part of it."
