The path to Sioux City, Iowa and the 2009 NAIA Division II National Tournament was announced today for the California Pacific Conference and it includes all nine conference teams dancing around the western United States. The season gets started on October 30th with Simpson University heading to Portland to play Cascade College at 5:30 pm. The defending conference champions Holy Names University gets started on November 1st against Fresno Pacific University in Fresno. 

The following are highlights from each of the conference school's schedules for the coming year:

- Bethany University has seven out of their first eight games away from the friendly confines of Redwood Auditorium. Their home open will be November 21st against Fresno Pacific University. They start their season on November 8th in neutral site game against Carroll College at Tobin Gymnasium on the campus of Holy Names University. The conference opener for the Bruins is December 11th versus Dominican University in San Rafael and they will end the conference season February 21st against CSU Maritime in Vallejo.

- CSU East Bay starts its first season under new head coach Toni West in Thousand Oaks versus Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member California Lutheran University on November 22nd. The first home game for the Pioneers is December 5th as they host University of Puget Sound. The Pioneers will start their conference season December 12th in Hayward versus defending conference champion Holy Names University, in a rematch of last year's conference championship game. The second match between the two schools will be January 24th in Oakland. The Pioneers finish their schedule February 19th in Hayward versus CSU Maritime.

- CSU Maritime hosts the 3rd Annual Maritime Cup for the first time. The tournament includes Cascade Collegiate Conference member Evergreen State College and NCAA Division III members Maine Maritime Academy and SUNY Maritime. The Keelhaulers are also involved in the Las Vegas Shootout, which features defending NAIA Division I women's basketball champion Vanguard University. The Keelhaulers will start their conference season December 13th versus Dominican University in Vallejo and will end the conference season in Vallejo versus Bethany University on February 21st.
 
- Dominican University starts their season November 8th versus Oregon Institute of Technology in San Rafael. After that date, the Penguins will not play at the Conlan Recreation Center again for almost a month. During that month span, they will play two GSAC schools (Biola University and The Master's College), one CCAA member (San Francisco State), one Division III Independent (UC Santa Cruz), and finish out the month of November in Grand Junction, Colorado at the Holiday Inn Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Mesa State College. The Penguins start their conference season December 11th versus Bethany University in San Rafael and end their conference season at Menlo College on February 19th.

- Holy Names University will take part in four tournaments this season. The third tournament, the Holy Names Thanksgiving Classic, finds the stiffest competition for the Hawks as the tournament features two GSAC powers - Azusa Pacific and Hope International University. The conference schedule for the Hawks starts December 12th at CSU East Bay in Hayward and concludes February 21st at William Jessup University in Rocklin.

- Menlo College starts off their season under new coach Shannon Osborne at the Raider Classic hosted by Southern Oregon University. The Oaks will host two tournaments this year - the Peninsula Hoops Classic and the Menlo College Thanksgiving Classic. The Oaks start their conference season December 11th versus William Jessup University and conclude February 21st versus Simpson University in Redding.

- Pacific Union College starts their season with back-to-back games in southern Oregon November 1st-2nd versus Southern Oregon University and Oregon Institute of Technology respectively. The home opener for the Pioneers is November 6th against Southwestern College, a new member of the NAIA. The conference season for the Pioneers starts at home December 13th versus Bethany University and ends also at home versus Holy Names University February 19th.

- Simpson University have a unique schedule this season. The RedHawks are playing every single member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference with the exception of College of Idaho, Northwest University and Concordia University of Portland. The RedHawks also have scheduled two GSAC schools in the Simpson Invitational. The RedHawks start their conference schedule December 13th versus CSU East Bay in Redding and ends their conference schedule February 21st versus Menlo College in Redding.

- William Jessup University hosts the Warrior Classic November 14th-15th and after the 15th, the Warriors will not play at home until 2009. The stretch between November 15th and December 31st includes three conference games and non-conference clashes versus versus Oregon Institute of Technology and CSU Monterey Bay. The Warriors conference season starts December 11th versus Menlo College in Atherton and ends February 21st in Atherton versus Menlo College.
