Holy Names University men's basketball coach Dennis Jones announced the signing of Tyrell Vaughn for 2010-2011 season.
The 6-6 guard is a 2005 graduate of Redwood High School in Visalia, California. Vaughn helped lead the Rangers to back-to-back 20 win seasons. As a junior he averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game and as a senior was named one of the top 25 players in Tulare County, averaging 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per contest.
Vaughn took his game to Reedley College and filled the sixth man role as a freshman, averaging 7 points and 4 rebounds for the Tigers in 2007-2008. As a sophomore in 2008-2009, he would start every game for Reedley, averaging 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game. Ty was an integral part of the Tiger's reaching the Elite 8 of the California Community College Athletic Association Tournament in 2009. For his efforts he was named honorable mention All-Central Valley Conference, as well as being selected to all-defensive first team in the Central Valley Conference.
