William Jessup University coach Parker Daniels announced the signing of David Cummings and Megan Crutchfield for the 2010-11 cross country team.
David Cummings, a native of Rocklin, California, will come to William Jessup after an outstanding career at Rocklin High School. He ran a 16:56 time at the CIF Cross Country State Championships in Fresno for the Thunder this past season. David has earned the Travis Williams Award, Coaches Award and Sportsmanship Award for cross country.
Cummings said, "William Jessup offers the opportunity for me to be challenged in all aspects of my life. The school community and team are a joy to be around and I look forward to building lasting relationships with everyone I meet." Daniels said about Cummings, "David is going to be an amazing fit for William Jessup. He brings so much to the table as a student athlete and I look forward to seeing him grow through the next four years.
Megan Crutchfield, a native of Lodi, California, comes to William Jessup after a standout career at Jim Elliot Christian High School. She is a four-year cross country runner for the Eagles. She qualified for the CIF Cross Country Championships the last three seasons and has been named a Harvest Christian League scholar-athlete award winner all four years.
Crutchfield said, "The William Jessup campus has a great community environment and when I stepped on campus I knew this was the place for me. Academically, the school offers a great public policy program in which I was looking for." Daniels stated about Crutchfield "I am excited for Megan to be joining us next fall.
