William Jessup University head softball coach Jessica Pistole announced the signing of Brittany Keehn. Keehn, who pitches for Woodland Christian and plays first base for her California Chaos 18 travel team, figures to occupy an infield position for the Warriors.
Keehn said, "It's close to home and for my first year I want to be close to my parents. When I went to the workout I really liked the team and the coach was nice. And I've been around the Christian environment all my life. I already know a couple of the girls on the team. They've been on travel teams with me before. They accepted me pretty quickly."
William Jessup coach Jessica Pistole said Keehn is part of a great recruiting class. With the program in its infancy, all of the newcomers will have a chance to make an impact next season. Pistole said of Keehn, "She obviously has been very successful at her level in the league they compete in. But it's just her competitive spirit. That's what I'm really looking for, girls who are willing to compete and work hard. We're excited to have her come in."
Pistole said Keehn's "good strong bat" is her strongest asset. As a junior, Keehn hit over .600 for Woodland Christian and was the team's best home run threat and this year her numbers are similar.
