William Jessup University women's soccer head coach Jamie Howard announced the signing of Dallas Butterfield to the 2010 women's soccer team.
Howard said, "We are extremely excited that Dallas has joined the Warrior soccer family. Dallas brings the toughness and skill to help us continue to compete at a high level. She has a very bright future ahead of her."
Butterfield, an Antioch, California native, joins the Warriors after an outstanding career at Antioch High School. She has played soccer for fourteen years, while playing
eight of those years with the Delta Force competitive soccer team and with the District
Olympic Development Program team for two years.
Over the past two years for the Panthers and the District ODP team, she has scored six
goals and assisted on ten other goals. In those two years, she served as team captain for
both teams. Butterfield has earned second team All-Bay Valley League honors and
defensive most valuable player for the Panthers 2010 season.
In high school, Dallas was also a member of the varsity track and football teams. As a
four year track athlete, she qualified to the North Coast Section Track and Field
Championships each year. On the football team, she was a three year placer kicker.
Butterfield said, "As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew that William Jessup was the
right place for me. I enjoyed the community feel of the campus and the students were
very welcoming. Coach Howard is an outstanding coach and the program has become
highly successful. I look forward to spending the next four years at William Jessup."
