William Jessup University softball coach Jessica Pistole announced the signing of Rosemont High School catcher Taylor Vinluan to the 2010-11 softball team.

 

"Taylor will be a great fit for our program," stated Pistole. "She comes from a winning program and has four years of varsity experience. She will be able to help us continue to build a solid foundation for the future of the William Jessup softball program."

 

Taylor, a Sacramento native, will come to William Jessup after an outstanding career at Rosemont High School. The catcher has been a four year varsity player for the Wolverines. She has been a three time First Team All-Metro Conference selection. Vinluan has earned team MVP honors, team leadership award and has been a three year team captain.

 

In her first three years at Rosemont, she led the Wolverines to a 49-32 overall record, while going 40-5 in the Metro Conference and included the Metro Conference Championship her junior season. During that time she batted .423 with sixty RBI's, twenty doubles, thirteen triples and five home runs.

 

The Wolverines are currently 11-8 overall and 7-1 in conference. She currently batting .636 with thirteen RBI's, two doubles and three triples in her senior season.

 "I am excited to have the opportunity to continue my career at William Jessup," stated Vinluan. "William Jessup has the small intimate campus environment I was looking for and the coaching staff is great. Another bonus is that it is close to home and my family will be able to watch me play for the next four years."
