Menlo College announced the signing of Scott Myers as the new head coach of the women's soccer team. Myers helped the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (FL) women to a berth in the NAIA National Championship last season.

"Scott brings a strong but very steady personality to the job that I think will help propel us to the conference championship and beyond," Menlo College Athletic Director Keith Spataro said. "His experience working in small colleges and colleges with distinct majors will be very advantageous in the recruiting process. I look forward to seeing Scott build the women's program."

Prior to Myers' two years at Embry Riddle, he was a graduate assistant for the women's soccer team at the University of Redlands. Myers was the Bulldogs head goalkeepers' coach as they won the 2006 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. Under Myers' tutelage, the Bulldogs' top goalie earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors.

Myers also spent time as an assistant for the men's and women's programs at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was a staff coach at the Heartland Soccer Club from 2001-06 where he led the U14 boys team to a state title. He previously was the head coach of the girls team at Washington High School in Cherokee, Iowa and was a staff coach within the Iowa Olympic Development Program.

"I am extremely excited for this great opportunity to join the family at Menlo College," said Myers. "Keith Spataro has a great passion for this program and I am excited to become part of his mission for the future of Menlo athletics. My goal is to run a soccer program that mirrors the success of the academic programs on campus."

Myers attained his undergraduate degree in science from Coe in 2001 and earned his master's degree in higher education from Redlands in 2008. He has a USSF National C License, as well as NSCAA Goalkeeping Diplomas at Levels I-III.
