Pacific Union College sophomore Lara Canders was selected as the California Pacific Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the dates of November 16^th through 23^rd, 2009.

Canders, a native of Concord, California, averaged 10 points in a 2-2 weekend for the Pioneers. The Pioneers lost to University of La Verne in La Verne on Friday 77-47, beat Pomona-Pitzer 66-63 on Saturday in Pomona, lost 95-44 to Whittier College in Whittier on Sunday and won 56-46 over California Institute of Technology in Pasadena Monday night. The two wins over the weekend provided the Pioneers the most wins in a season since the 2007-2008 season.
