California Pacific Conference champion Menlo College took the top individual honor and placed three players on the all-conference women's volleyball first team, Commissioner Don Ott announced today.

Senior middle blocker Deborah Bekowies captured the Player of the Year award in the closest vote for Player of the Year in recent memory. Bekowies along with teammates Stephanie Williamson and Sarah Poole made the first team. Menlo finished 16-9 overall and a perfect 12-0 in Cal Pac conference play. This is the team's 5th championship in the last 6 years, with a 71-1 league record in those championship seasons.

Joining the Menlo trio on the first team ballot were William Jessup's Jennifer McNamara and Corissa Jacomini, Holy Names' Ashley Nickell and Pacific Union's Tiffany Jacobson. Bekowies, Williamson and Nickell were all unanimous choices for the first team balloting.

For the second consecutive year, Libero of the Year went to William Jessup's Corrisa Jacomini. The Newcomer of the Year is Holy Names's Rebecca Chase, the Freshman of the Year is Pacific Union's Tiffany Jacobson and the Coach of the Year is William Jessup's Terry Stafford.
