The soccer teams atop the both the men's and women's Cal Pac standings face off this Saturday, October 4, for early supremacy in the league race. William Jessup tangles with Dominican in women's play and Holy Names travels to Menlo on the men's side.
WJU's women's soccer team, off to a 3-0 Cal Pac start, travels to Dominican (2-0 Cal Pac) for an 11:00 am tilt in San Rafael. The Warriors (5-3 overall, 3-0 Cal Pac) have outscored their three league foes by a 12-2 margin, including last an 8-0 pounding of Bethany on Sept. 30. The Penguins (5-2-1, 2-0) have allowed just one goal in the first two Cal Pac matches while shredding the nets for 11, including 7 on Tuesday at Mills College.
In men's play, Holy Names (4-3, 3-0), the defending league champion, is yet to allow a goal in Cal Pac action. The Hawks travel to Atherton, Calif., to face Menlo (4-3, 3-0), which has outscored its league foes by a 12-2 count so far. Kick-off is slated for 3:00 p.m.
The Cal Pac is playing a double round-robin schedule in soccer.
