The Holy Names University Hawks took the field for the second time in the NAIA National Tournament. On Thursday they played #4 Point Loma Nazarene University and on Friday, the task was still steep as they took on #13 Madonna University.

For the second straight day, the Hawks started California Pacific Conference Pitcher of the Year Stephani Fairclough while Madonna started Jess Irwin. The game was a pitchers duel throughout. However, the Crusaders touched Fairclough up for one run in the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth inning for the final margin.

Irwin got the win for the Crusaders going seven innings and giving up two hits while striking out ten and walking five Hawks. Tedi Johnston went one for two with one run scored and two RBIs for the Crusaders who moved to 2-0 in Pool D play. For the Hawks, Stephani Fairclough went six innings giving up three hits and three runs, all of which were earned, while striking out seven and walking two. Rachel Martinez went one for two at the plate for the Hawks.
