Alyssa Wegner has made her mark on the field, the court, and the clay in her four year high school career at East Union High in Manteca.  Now the multi-talented athlete will be bringing her games to William Jessup in the fall. Having already commited to the Lady Warriors soccer team in the fall, Wegner signed her scholarship with women's basketball on Friday in Rocklin.

"Alyssa is a great kid who brings a terrific attitude and perserverence to everything she does.  She is going to be a great addition to the community of WJU, as well as to the soccer and basketball programs here," assistant coach Melissa Triebwasser said.

Wegner, a forward, was a solid rebounder at the high school level, helping lead East Union to a Valley Oak League title and two playoff wins her senior year.  The Lancers were knocked out of the playoffs by eventual state champion St Mary's of Stockton.

East Union Coach Jim Agostini had this to say about his senior leader: " "She's 5-10 and can play the 4 or 5 and she's very consistent. You know what you'll get from Alyssa when she goes under the basket."
