Paris Hallums and Kara Wall, two players who have played key roles in Simpson's 26-5 record and No. 21 ranking in the country, have been selected as the California Pacific Conference softball players of the week.

Paris Hallums

Hallums earned Pitcher of the Week honors by producing two strong outings last week that resulted in a pair of victories for the Red Hawks.  In a 5-0 win over San Diego Christian, the freshman hurler scattered five hits and struck out six to post her eighth win of the season.  The Rescue, Calif., native followed that up with a five-hit, nine-strikeout gem in a 11-2 win over La Sierra to improve her squad to 2-0 in Cal Pac play.  For the season, Hallums has fashioned a 9-1 record, striking out 82 in 70 innings of work while posting a 2.00 earned run average.

Kara Wall

Simpson's Wall, a sophomore out of Rancho Cordova, Calif., powered her way to Cal Pac Player of the Week distinction.  Last week the Red Hawks first baseman jolted three home runs, giving her a total of 10 on the season, ranking her fifth in the nation in that category.  Wall is batting .373 this spring, as well as a .827 slugging percentage because over a third of her hits have cleared the wall.  In 27 games she has produced 29 runs batted in while averaging .370 home runs per game, ninth best in NAIA Division I.
