La Sierra's Natalia Hawthorne hit a deep 3-point shot with under one second left to lift the Golden Eagles to a win at Cal Maritime and earn the California Pacific Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball.

Natalia Hawthorne

Hawthorne, a senior out of Fontana, Calif., capped an outstanding road trip with the clutch 3-pointer that downed the Keelhaulers.  La Sierra played three Cal Pac games in three days, and with Hawthorne averaging 16.7 points and 4.3 rebounds, the Golden Eagles bounced back from a tough 75-69 loss at No. 22 Menlo to pull out two close road wins against Pacific Union and Cal Maritime.  Over the past week, she connected on 20-of 23 free throws (87%).  Hawthorne, who twice this season has topped the 30-point mark, leads the conference in scoring at an 18.6 clip, is second in steals, and fifth in field goal percentage.  LSU is now 2-1 in the Cal Pac and 9-10 overall.
