Holy Names University guard Raquel Hyche was selected as the California Pacific Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the dates of December 22^nd, 2008 through January 1^st, 2009.

The guard from Alameda, California averaged 21.5 points as the Hawks went 2-0 in the Peninsula Hoops Classic, hosted by Menlo College in Atherton. The Hawks beat South Dakota School of Mines and Technology 80-74 on Monday December 29^th and beat California Institute of Technology 77-30 on Tuesday December 30^th.
